NDAAP Board Meeting

 ATTENDANCE: Todd Twogood, Chris Tiongson, Myra Quanrud, Parag Kumar, Bernard Hoggarth, Steve Tinguely, Kylie Behm

• President’s Report
  • Main focus is linking the Chapter
    • Chapter will identify one person from each area to report new Pediatricians to Twogood
    • Minot doesn’t have facility email addresses, but we are working on getting the Pediatrician’s person email addresses
  • Weekly updates will be resuming soon
    • These emails have set an example for the National Academy
  • Going to make a book that Profiles all ND Pediatricians – will be sent out with one of the newsletters
  • Merchandise – create a logo and sell merchandise for NDAAP – need to keep AAP logo rules in mind

• VP Report - Update on Medical Home
  • Moving along – finished grant and are looking for more funding
  • MN will be helping
  • 10/3/06 – Stakeholders meeting
  • Looking for practices to start implementation
    • Start with 6-8 teams (physician, nurse, parent, etc.)

• Treasurer’s Report
  • Need to switch banks to Wells Fargo
  • Twogood will be submitting a $1000 check for the NDAAP from last fall

• IHS ND Team Report – Dr. David Grossman (CONACH) visited different Reservations.  Todd is on consultant team. 
  • Twogood will send his report to the Executive Board

• Legislative Report
  • Modification of a bill or law of ND Century Code section 15.1-19-16
  • In newborn screening – advocate for the state to pay for false negatives
  • Bicycle helmet safety – 21 states have helmet laws will start out real subtle – Twoogood (chair)

• Annual Report Update – due January 2007
  • Includes weekly email updates
  • Expanded newborn screening (Jan 2007)
  • Medical Home – direction we are going

• Strategic Plan Review
  • Achieved everything
  • Filed a report with Nationals

• Immunizations in the State
  • Vaccine Task Force – Dr. Ocejo is Chairperson
  • Good representation at State Health Dept.

• Next Meeting Date
  • March 2^nd 2007 in Fargo (afternoon/evening)
  • Same time as Meritcare Conference
  • Focus on Business Sense
